Abstract
Introduction
Diabetes disturbed humans from living normally, while Nature tries to help us again. Remarkable herbs biodiversity reflects a wide array of mechanisms.
Aim
Present study aims to track male annoying consequences of diabetic on fertility, trying to improve these hazards using two different herbs Garcinia cambogia and Ginkgo biloba.
Materials and methods
30 male Albino Sprague Dawely rats in six groups (5 rats each). Groups; 1st group (negative control). 2nd and 3rd were treated orally with (200 mg/kg bw) for both G. cambogia and G. biloba. 4th was +ve control (diabetic rat model) induced by alloxan injection (150 mg/kg bw) once. 5th and 6th were treated after diabetes induction with two herbs. Treatment period was 1 month after diabetes induction.
Results
Obtained data revealed diabetic group treated with G. biloba recorded reduction in sperm morphology abnormalities, lowering serum Triglycerides and low density lipoprotein (LDL) concentration caused as terrible effects of diabetes. More amazing data showed in diabetic rat group treated with G. cambogia recorded significant amelioration in all sex hormones levels such as (prolactin, follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), Luteinizing hormone (LH) and testosterone. and verify fixation to its level after drastic effect of diabetes.
Conclusion
Garcinia cambogia and Ginkgo biloba demonstrate promising protective effects against diabetes-induced reproductive dysfunction, suggesting their potential as complementary therapeutic agents for improving male fertility under diabetic conditions.
